Feel at Home

This place was absolutely magical. From the first minute you feel at home and when you walk out the verandah, the views just take your breathe away. The service could not have been better and the food was incredible

Thoroughly Enjoyable Visit

Thoroughly enjoyable visit; wish it could have been longer. The grounds are beautiful and the views are stunning. But, nothing compares to the passion and perfectionism in everything Ravi does. Stanley’s hoppers were delicious. Fantastic, what a treat. Thank you. See you again

The Jewel of Sri Lanka

The jewel of Sri Lanka – stunning view. Peaceful atmosphere. Charming staff. Thank you for a memorable experience!

Love at first sight

Words can never describe the time we had in this place. From the moment we turned into the lane and this cottage came into view, it was love at first sight. Tucked away amidst the mountain this place offers a panoramic view of the beauty of this place. From welcoming staff, friendly people you can’t ask for more. It’s definitely a home away from home, where you can do just as you please. It caters both to the romantic heart as also the wide eyed wonder of the kids and to the older generation catching up on their memories. I can’t do justice to this place and no words can express my deep felt thoughts but it did give me an opportunity to feel like a princess. If there was heaven on earth then I guess you know where it is!!!

Amazingly Caring

Thank you for everything. It was a great time we spent here. You all are amazingly caring. By the way, the food was great and house as well. We have never seen more beautiful nature and so amazing views.

An enchanting location at the top of a mountain in the tea plantation region near Haputale. There are only four cottages and we were the only guests there for the two nights of our stay. That meant we had the full attention of Ravi and his team and, boy, did they look after us well! Dinner and breakfast were prepared to our order by the superb chef, Rajani, and served either in our cottage or on the lawn. A real oasis of calm and indulgence with breathtaking views from the property. A wonderful experience.

Fabulous! Go for lunch!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Kelbourne Mountain View nestled amongst the tea plantations. We enjoyed a magnificent Sri Lankan meal. I was very impressed that they had catered for my food allergies. The surrounding gardens and views were superb.

A very recommended step back in time

The highlights here have to be the people and the location. It is a stunningly beautiful setting and the cottages are all rather quaint but all comfortable. Ravi and his team were great and looked after our large group impeccably. Nothing was too much trouble and all with a big smile. Great spot.

We stayed 2 nights in the Sunflower cottage. Cozy and comfortable one bedroom with a lovely balcony where you can enjoy breakfast and enjoy the breathtaking views. No one takes better care of his guests than Ravi. He met us at the train station with the most welcoming smile. He s a friendly, kind, funny, and tends to your every need. He has a wealth of information about the Haputale area. Chef Rajani prepares delicious Sri Lankan meals with fabulous desserts. You will have a choice between Sri Lankan or.a western style meal. Don’t hesitate go for the Sri Lankan dinner - you won’t be disappointed. One day I mentioned how much I liked a Sri Lankan dish called bringol mogie. Ravi and Chef Rajani arranged for me to meet the chef in the kitchen after our afternoon tea so chef could teach me how to make it. Prior to our stay, I had been in contact with Shara through e-mail. She was great and very responsive to my inquiries. She provided helpful information about Kelburne Cottages. Many thanks to Ravi Chef Rajani, and Shara from Michael & Aimee

The best place ever

The views are amazing and the staff are incredible. Our butler (he said house boy) Ravi was funny, professional and very accomodating. The chef Rajini made us the most amazing Rice and Curry as well as the perfect breakfast. All the staff were fantastic. We only stayed 2 nights but I wish we had stayed a week.

Simply amazing

There is a variety of cottages that will suit your needs perfectly - one 3 bed cottage, two 2 bed cottages and 1 one bed cottage, if its a big enough party you can rent the lot. There is a dining area for breakfast and then dinner in your cottage. Although a ten minute drive out of the nearest town, to be honest that is such a plus, the peace and quiet is golden! All areas are spotlessly cleaning the service is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and the staff make you feel really at home. We had Ravi as our 'butler' and Rajini was our chef. Both of them were just lovely, the best Rice and Curry! Ravi is funny, chatty and has 22 years of looking after the guests there so really knows how to make you feel at home, he made the place feel like home!

We stayed at Wildflower cottage which has three rooms and three bathrooms. The place is absolutely beautiful. The cottage is decorated to give a luxurious stay while preserving the colonial bungalow feeling. The view from their is to die for and cold breeze refreshes you for the day. The service is at a whole new level. They attend to the details and use the tools and amenities of luxury quality. Staff are very attentive. The food is delicious and presented like at fine dining. The desserts were fresh and so innovative. It was a pleasant surprise. The prices are a bit to the higher side but it’s a quality experience and we all loved it!

Incredible views, impeccable service

Our family of 6 had 2 nights in Wildflower Cottage, we were so happy with our stay, the views are indescribable, Ravi’s great care of us, badminton on the lawn, great breakfasts and dinners, a memorable stay during our 3 week Sri Lanka trip, highly recommend. They realized it was my husbands birthday at breakfast our last morning, a freshly baked cake appeared minutes before we left at 10.45 - a lovely gesture. Visited Lipton’s seat and Tea Factory which was well worth it.

Beautiful views high in the hills

My wife and I and my in-laws were lucky enough to stay in Aerie Cottage for two nights in the middle of February. The cottages are located in a beautiful setting, with the ability to eat breakfast on the balcony with beautiful views all around. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with plenty of reading material, if needed. The food is delicious and plentiful. Our chef was also willing to listen to our suggestions about the food that we fancied.

Comfortable, good food, great staff

We spent two nights at this resort. As advertised the views were fantastic (thought the cloud rolled in from time to time,) the bungalow had character and was very comfortable, the food was excellent but the real highlight was the staff who could not have done more to help us. There are some great walks through the tea fields. At this time of year you definitely need a fleece and perhaps more in the evening: it's too cold to sit out.
